It took me like 15 tries to find a perfect cake recipe which works for me. Every recipe I tried before, for some reason, never worked for me.
I started thinking I am a bad baker who can never bake a chocolate cake.
But then I found a recipe on the internet at last, but that recipe had flaws of its own, so I changed the procedure of that recipe, and Voila! It turned out to be perfect.
It's so moist and the sweetness is optimal.
For others like me out there who failed at baking a chocolate cake before, I am sure this recipe will most probably work for you.
The best part of this recipe is that it needs a few ingredients which you can easily find in your pantry, and it's completely vegan.
1 + 1/2 cup - All-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder (preferably Dutch processed)
1 teaspoon - Baking soda
1/2 teaspoon - Salt
1 cup - Water
1 cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoon - Vegetable Oil (Neutral Flavour)
1 tablespoon - Vinegar or Lemon juice
1 teaspoon - Vanilla Essence
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Take all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda; sift them together and them give it a good mix.
Take a cup of water and sugar and mix it until sugar fully dissolves.
Add oil, vinegar and vanilla essence to the sugar syrup.
Put this mixture of wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix it well until there are no lumps in the batter.
Put the batter in a pan and keep in the oven for 25 minutes.
Do not over mix the batter or else your cake will become rubbery-ish.
I used dutch processed cocoa powder, it will give your chocolate cake a darker colour and it will really taste better
You can turn your granulated sugar into powder using a mixer-grinder before making the sugar syrup. I do that, it saves a lot of time.
After removing the cake from oven, cool it on a rack for about 10 minutes, then wrap it with clingfilm and cool for at least 2 hours. This step turns the cake so good.
I hope your cake turns out wonderful. Do follow my tips and don't forget to comment how your cake turned out :)
